Welcome! Thank you for trying our salts. Usually, when people receive them, the first question is “what the heck do I do with these?”. So we’ve put together a list of recipes that you can try.
Here’s a few general guidelines. First, use Josu flavors in your existing recipes - wherever you use salt. The flavors are not meant just for Korean cuisine. We wanted to make it easy to take the delicious flavors of Korea and combine them with others - just like we do in our family every day. For us, that means Kimchi salt on scrambled eggs, Gamchil salt on pork and Garlic Chive on avocado toast (just to name a few). So give it a try.
Is it a finishing salt or cooking salt? Well, we think it’s both. The large grain size makes it easy to grab a pinch to sprinkle on finished recipes for a satisfying crunch and burst of flavor. But we also use it when cooking.
So here are a few recipes ranging from the simple to the fancy. Hopefully they will give you some ideas.
If you’d like to contribute a recipe, please let us know.
In the meantime, if you want to learn more about us, here’s our story and here’s how we make our salt. If you have any questions, please get in touch with us at Parker@josu.co
